Sharon Murphy, a Wisconsin native, spent over four decades in education, as an elementary and then high school teacher, university professor and administrator. She taught in three states and on three continents and has worked with and for domestic abuse and violence prevention programs. Mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she lives in Madison, Wisconsin with her husband and fellow writer Brad Niemcek.
This novel, the first in a series about academic life and its challenges and opportunities, follows a long list of articles, books and book chapters focusing mainly on the roles and images of women and US ethnic minorities in the mass media. When not writing she’s involved in music, gardening and international travel, especially visiting former international exchange sons and daughters in Germany, France, Slovenia, Thailand and Japan.
